The Senior Director of Marketing will lead the Varis marketing strategy for buyers and suppliers for our e-procurement platform.  This is ground floor opportunity to optimize our go-to-market strategy for entirely new approach to B2B Procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the marketing function – establishing foundational frameworks and processes that enable the development of a world-class marketing organization where innovation, initiative, and analytics are second nature. Drive a performance-based agile culture with clearly articulated metrics, accountabilities, and business goals.
  • Direct all activity including demand generation, brand marketing, social media, content development– with the goal of driving new customer acquisition, continued market penetration across the B2B ecommerce and e-procurement industry and driving existing customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Build and align a business-oriented marketing organization capable of delivering aggressive demand generation results, leveraging all marketing channels including but not limited to social media, email, in-app messaging, paid media, organic content, events, partnerships and public relations.
  • Develop the Varis brand and market presence through effective marketing campaigns. Ensure consistent execution of the marketing message through all market-facing channels.
  • Serve as the architect and builder of Varis’ marketing strategy. Plan, develop and execute comprehensive multi-channel marketing programs to generate qualified leads from target segments.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to provide a consistent experience throughout the entire buyer lifecycle through the creation and delivery of sales enablement materials and trainings.
  • Work with Operations to determine and implement organizational key results and other effective measurement tools to track performance of marketing initiatives.
  • Attract key talent to the organization and shape a collaborative, transparent and entrepreneurial culture, one that embraces coaching and has a strong focus on the growth and development of all its team members.

 Requirements

  • 10+ years professional experience in marketing or related fields.
  • Experience leading a B2B marketing organization.
  • Experience in a high-growth technology startup preferable.
  • Experience with procurement or marketplace technology is a plus.
  • Experience developing and executing multi-channel campaigns to drive demand generation is required.
  • Background in digital and product marketing is required.
  • Advanced analytical mindset with hands-on experience in attribution reporting and testing methodologies.
  • An entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries within the industry.
  • The ability to attract and recruit top talent, motivate the team, delegate effectively.
  • Ability to seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organization’s overall strategy.
  • Ambition to contribute to campaign development when needed regardless of seniority.
  • Experience driving an innovative culture with both internal and external team members in a remote team environment is a plus.
  • Ability to create and articulate an inspiring vision for the organization, not only for the areas they are directly responsible for, but the enterprise as a whole.
  • Strong financial Acumen. Prior experience managing a P&L is a plus.

Base Salary:  $153,000 to $263,700
