Description:

Why?

Our current Finance Manager has been temporarily seconded to work on an internal project and we need an interim replacement.

What?

You will be the Finance Manager reporting into the Financial Controller. You will be key to ensuring processes are in place to enable the monthly group management accounts including the monthly P&L, Balance sheet and supplementary commentary and analysis to be delivered timely and efficiently. You will also have 2 direct reports and work closely with the Head of FP&A to ensure Departmental budget reviews are completed each month. 

Who?

You will be a qualified accountant with a strong management accounting background. You will also have experience working in a multi-currency environment as the number of legal entities in the group are growing quickly. You will demonstrate strong communication skills and will be prepared to roll your sleeves up to contribute to the growth of Finance and Omnipresent. 

The detail:

Your role

The key thing here is that we are a Series B rapidly growing startup where the Finance function is still taking shape. You will be responsible for the fundamentals of the numbers along with all the usual tasks a Finance Manager in a SaaS style start up does. Which, to be clear looks like this:

Management Reporting

  • Contribute to the  month end close reporting process for Omnipresent.
  • Work with the Team to operate a robust review process with budget holders.
  • Prepare the monthly group P&L consolidation and reporting process including group and departmental performance against budget and forecast.
  • Business partnering with department heads to analyse and manage departmental spend against budget
  • Contribute to the development of monthly gross margin reporting that will also inform legal entity expansion strategy.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand business performance and how this affects financials and KPIs.
  • Contribute to refining and developing quarterly Board Reporting.

Month End Tasks

  • Review P&L and departmental codings, working with the AR/AP/Cash team to ensure invoices are coded correctly.
  • Delegation of tasks to direct reports and regular 1-2-1s
  • Work with the Payroll team to ensure payroll for both internal and external employees are complete and accurate.
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate balance sheet positions are maintained
  • Contribute to the development of the Finance function by identifying opportunities to streamline processes

Adhoc

  • Adhoc projects as required for the Finance Director, CFO and Co-Founders

You’ve done all of these things..

  • Strong academics, including a minimum 2:1 or equivalent undergraduate degree
  • A qualified member of an accountancy body with 1-2 years’ qualified experience
  • Knowledge of IFRS advantageous
  • Experience with Management Accounting and having direct reports
  • Experience with Oracle Netsuite
  • Commercially astute, articulate and technically strong
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
