Impact

The bilingual Project Manager responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of the projects. Conduct agile development with tools like JIRA. Organize engineering retro meetings and collect statistics and reports for upper management regarding the status of projects periodically. The successful candidate will work directly with the technical manager and project leads to ensure the priority of tasks meets the business and engineering roadmaps.  He or she will coordinate with teams and  departments (engineering, marketing, business) over multiple regions (at least in Chinese and English) to ensure  resources are timely distributed to projects based on priority. 

Responsibilities

  • Discreet Labs  is seeking a Bilingual Project Manager to manage global product projects from inception through launch and completion
  • In this role, primary responsibility includes effectively managing development sprints from planning to execution in an agile development environment
  • Additionally, you run daily scrums, manage backlog, collaborating on requirement documentation, manage defect tickets and manage any blocked task that could delay delivery of sprint
  • Conduct board grooming for the North America team. 
  • Facilitates daily stand-up, iteration planning, estimates, sprint review, and iteration retrospective
  • Work with software development, QA engineer, and DevOps coordinating releases and optimize  both the development and release processes
  • Work with IT Business Systems analyst to create or analyze business requirements documents and project timelines
  • Lead team iteration execution and delivery
  • Communicates with management and stakeholders
  • Manages and controls sprint deliveries and tasks and making sure that new features/requirements are not introduced during a sprint that would delay a sprint
  • Manage conflicts, challenges and dynamic business requirements to keep operations running at a high performance
  • Work with the team leads to resolve people problems and project roadblocks
  • Able to do post mortem and root cause analysis after sprint releases
  • Implement and support principles, rules and processes
  • Manage project sprints, stories/epics, estimates, task assignments using JIRA
  • Presents high level project status to rest of company; organize engineering retro meetings and help to revise the monthly report from the marketing team;
  • Manage other special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Interest in cryptocurrency or blockchain is a must
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, assertiveness, excellent communication skills, multitask and work within a fast-paced environment, and ability to coordinate between cross-functional teams within Discreet Labs and the Findora ecosystem
  • Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience and minimum of 2 years leading Scrum/Agile projects
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong understanding of agile development process with tools such as JIRA and ability to manage task and train engineers and project leads on more effective usage
  • Ability to have critical thinking of the existing workflow and continue to optimize them; can identify the root cause of issues and have strong execution to solve them.
  • Ability to grasp the concept of a complex system with an overall idea quickly; strong logistics; willingness to keep learning and get to the details of technical projects.
  • Experience working with and coordinating of cross-functional and distributed groups (e.g. product management, engineering, cryptography/research, design)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Mandarin
  • Deep understanding of agile metrics (tasks, backlog tracking, burn-down metrics, velocity, user stories etc.)
  • Comfortable and ability to understand and represent both the business and technologySelf-motivated, organized

Preferred

  • Remote work possible within 2 hours +/- the Pacific Time Zone. 
  • With work experience in Layer 1 blockchain technology or crypto industry
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science ,or other technical or analytical fields, or equivalent practical work experience
