We are looking for senior backend engineers (mid-senior) who are comfortable taking control of complex projects and working with other members of the team. Every engineer contributes to key feature rollouts and cutting-edge technology of the solar industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Build new functionality and features for our software platform
  • Scale Aurora’s infrastructure by 10x over the next year
  • Develop and extend our existing API
  • Build integrations with other players in the solar industry

What we value:

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Experience developing backend web systems
  • Experience managing databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs
  • Familiarity with (or eagerness to learn) Ruby on Rails
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability
  • Ability to perform and thrive in a remote environment at a fast-growing company

At Aurora Solar, we tie our base pay ranges to level and location. In the United States, this means that your base pay ranges will fall into one of three geographic pay zones depending on your location. 

In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. Base pay is ultimately determined based on a number of factors including skills, qualifications and location. This role is eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation. 

The expected salary range for this position if evaluated as a Senior Software Engineer:

– Tier 1 San Francisco, New York City: $137,500.00 – $194,000.00

– Tier 2 Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington DC: $126,000.00 – $177,500.00

– Tier 3 All Other US Locations, including Colorado: $114,500.00 – $161,500.00

The expected salary range for this position if evaluated as a Software Engineer:

– Tier 1 San Francisco, New York City: $115,000.00 – $155,500.00

– Tier 2 Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington DC: $105,500.00 – $142,500.00

– Tier 3 All Other US Locations, including Colorado: $95,500.00 – $129,500.00
